OP industries, the developer that created the title The War Z has received a large amount of flak from the gaming community over the past year or so. One of the prominent reasons for the negative press is very close to “similarly titled brands” as a recent press release states.
Right away the first name that comes to mind is the smash hit DayZ, the zombie survival mod created on the back of the ARMA 2 game by developer Bohemia Interactive. The War Z was released last December to very much criticism for not delivering a full game at release. After the debacle the game was quickly removed from Steam and re-released in February.
The name of The War Z has been officially changed to Infestation: Survivor Stories. Hopefully now this game can separate itself from its previous stigma and become something that we can enjoy.
